Ariel was an experienced caster with a skew towards healing. Born and raised in Gridania, she possesses an unusually high aetherial density, which helped her sustain healing spells and red magic, where the source of aether is the caster's own reserves, as well as replenish said reserve at a remarkable rate. Formerly a rather inefficient caster who brute-forces her spells, she mastered the mobile, versatile nouliths. Given their nature of recycling excess aether from spells for healing, her vast reserves of mana allowed her to wield them to devastating effect and take to the field as a highly proficient Sage.A kind and gentle heart, she is always looking out for her party members, being very dedicated to her work of ensuring they would return in one piece with her talent in rejuvenation. Where healing alone does not suffice, she hadn't been the slightest bit hesitant in drawing a rapier, taking to putting her potent red magic towards "preventative healing" on the frontlines, as she is fond of jokingly referring to it as.She is, as of the present, retired from service and adventuring, as her body, unique as it is, could no longer safely sustain the expenditure of aether required for anything beyond the simplest of spells. Her time is now devoted to fashion, other feminine hobbies, and trying to settle down with a loving partner.She does not have a stable relationship, despite most of her peers having already settled with another. There are a few causes for this, including her single-minded focus in work, her shy and timid nature in romance, and less fortunately, her infertility. She hasn't given up, however, sometimes visiting clubs when she is free to mingle, whether alone or with a few of her friends.She had an affinity for ice and holy magic as a mage.

Ariel, out of character, is a raider who mostly plays casters and melee as of late, and bounces across multiple MMOs and some other games. She tries her best to care for others the same way her character does, but falls short far too often. She prefers not to speak on the rest of her life, however she is recovering from trauma and will avoid heavier topics as they have a tendency to cause her to panic.She is single, and not interested in a partner.

Unbeknownst to her, Ariel was not truly born in Gridania, but left in Guildmaster E-Sumi-Yan's care as a babe by her parents. She is a direct descendant of Shiva and Hresvelgr's sacred union, whose children fled Coerthas at the outbreak of the Dragonsong War, and as such her body contains a tiny sliver of His draconic essence and power. Her magical abilities largely stem from this trait, as do the peculiarities surrounding her corporeal body, chiefly her unnatural aetherial density.Without scales laden over her body as a dragon possesses, there is no barrier preventing her heightened sensitivity from exaggerating the light physical sensations her body registers, doubly so for her more delicate spots. This is largely to blame for her dislike of clothing, as prolonged wear invariably arouses her.The conflicting quirks of her magical aptitude in both scale and efficiency are a direct result of her ancestry. Draconian magic (Akh Morn and Morn Afah being notable examples) by nature draw from exorbitant amounts of aether by Spoken standards, given their vast wellsprings of aether. Her elemental affinity also reflect her bloodline as a descendant of the union.The above is also the primary cause of her body's deterioriation when she draws on her magic. Despite her bloodline, she is ultimately still merely Spoken, and the strain of drawing from power several orders of magnitude above what her body should be capable of takes its toll on her lifeforce. This is the reason why she is infertile: Her body is too fragile to conceive a child, and even if she somehow managed to do so, the process of childbirth would be guaranteed to come with the cost of her life.
